Courage in the Palace Step 2 of 4

You're a quarter of the way through Esther's story. Keep going.

Keep walking in faith.

And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them. If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries. And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman. Esther 3:8-11 (KJV)

Haman's hatred for Mordecai — who refused to bow to him — grew into a plot to exterminate all Jews in the Persian empire. With a wave of the king's ring, genocide was authorized. Esther, hidden safely in the palace, faced a choice: stay silent and survive, or speak up and risk everything.

Haman turned a personal grudge into a systemic attack. When have you seen individual prejudice become something larger and more dangerous?

Is there injustice around you that you've been aware of but chosen to stay silent about?

Pay attention today to one situation where someone is being treated unfairly. You don't have to solve it — just notice it and refuse to look away.
