Father of Faith Step 2 of 4

You're a quarter of the way through Abraham's story. Keep going.

Keep walking in faith.

And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:5-6 (KJV)

Years had passed with no child. Abram questioned God's promise. In response, God took him outside at night and pointed to the stars — each one a descendant he would never meet. And Abram believed. That simple act of trust was counted as righteousness.

Abraham believed God's promise even when the evidence pointed the other way. What promises are you holding onto even when circumstances seem impossible?

Is there something God has spoken to your heart that you've stopped believing because it hasn't happened yet?

Tonight, step outside and look at the stars. Let them remind you that God's promises operate on a timeline bigger than your own.
